About the role

Role:
Workforce Operations Specialist
Reporting to Co-Founder
Objective:
Ensure accurate and reliable workforce operations across time tracking, payroll, payments, and leave management, while continuously improving operational processes. You ensure payroll runs smoothly, escalate complex cases to external support, and document and embed knowledge through clear SOPs.
Scope:
All active workers on the Cocoroco platform
Time tracking, payroll inputs, expenses, and time off
Coordination with our employment partner
SOP creation and financial operational reporting
Responsibilities:
Support day to day payroll and workforce operations for active workers
Manage time tracking, expenses, time off, and related payroll inputs accurately and on time
Maintain accurate worker data and operational trackers
Follow and maintain standard operating procedures for workforce operations
Flag discrepancies, risks, or unclear cases to senior team members
Collaborate with User Operations and Finance to support smooth internal payroll cycles
Act as the primary back-office point of contact with Deel for operational questions and cases
Escalate complex or sensitive cases to senior operations or external support where needed
About you
Experience:
1 - 2 years experience in payroll operations, workforce operations, or HR operations
Hands-on experience with Deel or similar global EOR or payroll providers
Experience managing time tracking, payroll inputs, expenses, and leave
Comfortable working with operational trackers, documentation, and tooling
Comfortable working in a back-office operational role with internal stakeholders
Strong Excel skills for operational tracking, reconciliation, and reporting
Minimum availability of 24h per week
Soft skills:
Highly structured and detail oriented
Strong sense of ownership and accountability
Calm and solution oriented in complex or high pressure cases
Clear written communication skills for SOPs and documentation
Able to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally
Nice to have:
Experience with SaaS, platforms, marketplaces, or AI-driven products
Exposure to employment law or payroll compliance topics
Interest in automation and process optimization
Experience working closely with finance teams
